Mr. Daniel Williams
US FAA International Lead Office of Environment and EnergyDan Williams is currently the Senior International Advisor for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Environment and Energy. In this role, he serves as the coordinator for all of FAA’s international environmental activities, both bilaterally and multilaterally at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP). Dan also serves as the lead advisor on policy and technical matters related to the development and implementation of ICAO’s market-based measure to address GHG emissions from international aviation, the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). Dan is a nominated expert to ICAO CAEP Working Group 4 (WG4) and Fuels Task Group (FTG), where he is responsible for developing and drafting international Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) used by all ICAO Member States to implement CORSIA.
Before joining the FAA, Dan practiced environmental law in Washington D.C., focusing on mobile-source emissions as well as biofuels and low-carbon financing.
Dan received undergraduate degrees in journalism and history from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a law degree, with honors, from Vermont Law School.
